Cool Highschool Kids Stories

Yesterday, I came home from a weekend visit in Georgia. My uncle's western store/rodeo arena hosted the Georgia Highschool Rodeo, and they needed my help in the concession stand. I got to see these highschool kids that have such a passion for their sport. It was about 35 degrees and really windy the whole weekend, and all they had on were long-sleeved shirts, no jackets, jeans, and boots. They had to be cold-but that was dress code! They love this sport so much that they spend their whole weekend in different places with their horses. They ride with such passion. Well, anyway, my uncle was telling me of a boy who was around 16 or 17 (He wasnt quite sure how old). The whole story started when there was this girl who still had her horse in a stall that she was renting from my uncle, and she hadn't paid for yet. He went to the announcer's stand and asked for this girl to come up. She did, and explained that she left her horse for a boy, let's call him Jim (I'm not real sure of his name). "Jim" is a boy who comes to all of the rodeos by himself, every weekend. He drives himself, keeps a job, keeps a good grade in school, and takes care of himself. Well, after the girl told my uncle that she left it for him, he said that he needs to pay up, or someone needs to pay! So he was talking to someone about him, and they told him that he was this really good guy. His parents don't support his sport-or him for that matter. But he comes every weekend. "Jim" had gone in the western store earlier that morning, to buy a rope. He bought it, but the cashier accidently gave him back all of his money without realizing it. He actually CAME BACK and told the cashier. Most adults wouldn't even do that! So my uncle gave him a free rope in the end, after hearing what all he's been through. Reminds me of the verse 1 Timothy 4:12

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."
